Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) in Calgary, AB, seeks a Vice Principal of Junior High to partner with the Principal to advance academic and spiritual objectives for students in JK–Grade 9. The role begins August 2027 and emphasizes a Christ-centered learning community.

Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) was established in 1980 by First Alliance Church as a private, Alberta-accredited Christian school located in Southwest Calgary. GCA currently offers education from JK through Grade 9. While GCA continues to operate as a ministry of First Alliance Church, it welcomes students and families from a variety of church communities throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.

GCA is a member of the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta (AISCA) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). With a strong focus on educational excellence and personal development, GCA has consistently been recognized as one of Alberta’s high-performing schools. The school serves approximately 1,000 students, with approximately 600 students in the Elementary School and 400 students in Junior High. GCA is supported by a Head of School, two Principals, three Vice Principals, and a staff of more than 125 dedicated employees. GCA has an opportunity for a Vice Principal of Junior High. Working closely with the Principal of Junior High, this individual will ensure the academic and spiritual goals of the school are being achieved. This position will begin August 2027.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a very successful teacher
• Knowledge and experience regarding instructional evaluation practices and methods
• Familiarity with current trends, initiatives and directions relating to curriculum, technologies, learning styles and student evaluation and spiritual formation
• Post graduate training in the areas of administration and instruction an asset
• A collaborative, team-oriented leadership style in dealing with staff, the GCA Educational Society, and other administrators
• Successful experience in developing and extending community partnerships and involving parents and the community in school programs, activities and services

Required Education and Training

• Bachelor of Education

Preferred Education and Training

• Master’s degree in a related field
• At least five to ten years of education experience in a Junior High environment

Preferred Certificates

• AB Interim Certificate
• AB Letter of Authority
• AB Permanent Certificate
• Attained or working towards LQS in Alberta

Compensation

Glenmore Christian Academy offers a compensation package competitive with public schools in Alberta. All Administration will contribute to the Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund.
