The Qualicum School District is seeking a Vice Principal for False Bay School, responsible for providing leadership and supervision in a multi-grade setting. Centrally located on Vancouver Island on Coast Salish Territory within the territories of the Nanoose (Snaw'naw'as) First Nation and Qualicum First Nation, the Qualicum School District serves a population of approximately 4300 students and 700 staff. The region exemplifies the best of Vancouver Island living, with an ideal coastal climate, ocean and forests close at hand, and a desirable small-town lifestyle while still enjoying convenient city access.
The Vice Principal of False Bay School provides leadership and staff supervision and is responsible for multi-grade classroom instruction. False Bay School is located on Lasqueti Island, a small, remote island connected to Vancouver Island by passenger-only ferry at French Creek, near Parksville. The school currently offers K-9 programming for approximately 20 students, with hybrid support for several secondary students learning online. Funding for a new school building has been approved for the adjacent site, with construction scheduled to be completed in 2028. The school has an alternate calendar with 8 additional NID Fridays, and district accommodation on Lasqueti Island is available. The start date for this position is August 1, 2025, or a mutually agreeable date.
The salary range for this position is $130,901 to $138,313 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The placement within this range will depend on qualifications and experience.
