IDC is seeking a Vice President to join its Enterprise Services division. This VP will be responsible for co-leading a group of enterprise services analysts, as well as running IDC’s Worldwide Services CIS (continuous information service), which involves the production and execution of research and advisory services that span across all enterprise services markets.

This role also involves collaboration on services-related research spanning IDC's software, hardware and other technology and vertical markets. This is a senior role that provides the opportunity to be an integrating mechanism across all of IDC's research areas and thus requires a highly skilled professional with the breadth and depth to collaborate with the entire firm.

Responsibilities

This role requires a proven business developer who has consultative selling skills, not only to help the team build and retain subscription clients, but also to develop and deliver custom research opportunities. Beyond shaping and delivering research, this role involves selling and delivering speaking engagements, custom assets like white papers, blogs or podcasts and strategy sessions with both vendors and buyers. This role also requires strong modelling and forecasting skills, since it will be deeply involved in TAM work. This role will focus on a broad range of enterprise services, both business and IT research domains, such as business consulting, environmental, social and governance business services, digital business professional services, IT consulting and systems integration, managed services, and more.

  • Conduct and publish research on the WW services industry, with a focus on tying together all functional markets, into a cohesive, easy to understand, construct.
  • Provide leadership in the shaping and delivering of custom research and assets
  • Lead, or collaborate on, cross-Services and cross-IDC research initiatives with IDC analysts around the world
  • Liaise with IDC Sales organization to support deeper client relationships and drive revenue growth
  • Management of other analysts responsible for syndicated and custom research

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or equivalent experience in both business and technology
  • 10 - 15 years' experience in market research, advisory, marketing or consulting specific to the enterprise services domain
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills
  • Strong Data Modeling and Forecasting skills
  • Deep executive-level relationships with both service providers and services buyers
  • Demonstrated examples of collaboration, problem-solving, and innovative thinking
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Business travel typically between 10-20% of time
