Job description

As VP, Treasury Solutions, you will relationship manage a portfolio of corporate clients with their banking, treasury and cash management requirements. Your clients will be senior market corporates with complex banking requirements such as bank account structure, disbursements, receivables and liquidity management. Your clients will often have broad strategic, operational and reputational importance to the bank and provide a gateway for additional RBC products and services. Along with core portfolio management responsibilities, you will collaborate with Transaction Banking leadership and colleagues on various account planning and risk management activities that grow relationships, enhance loyalty and drive innovation.

What will you do?

  • Manage relationships and grow revenue of a portfolio of corporate transaction banking clients with a focus on supporting requirements, enhancing loyalty and identifying cross-sell opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and key stakeholders to execute client coverage and business development plans that protect revenue streams and facilitate growth
  • Develop thorough understanding of corporate deposit and liquidity tools and services to facilitate client deposit growth
  • Identify existing and prospective client operational requirements, manage proposals and successfully close micro and macro opportunities
  • Coordinate the completion and execution of annual relationship and pricing reviews including contract negotiation
  • Provide product and service recommendations through thoughtful client discovery to solve business challenges and identify opportunities
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide support for operational & transactional risk management teams, working collaboratively with Capital Markets / Business Risk / Global Banking Services Centre partners (includes standard and negotiated service documentation)
  • Support partners on credit risk reviews in relation to clients' credit requirements and payment operations
  • Provide leadership and support to key internal partners (i.e., service, implementation, documentation, etc.) that contribute to exceptional client experience

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years banking experience in relationship management, account management & / or sales with knowledge of corporate cash management products, emerging industry trends, and ability to articulate broader RBC value proposition
  • Track record providing exceptional client advice / service, achieving business objectives and revenue growth in varying market conditions
  • Well-developed negotiation skills in complex scenarios with the confidence to work with executive level stakeholders both internally and with portfolio clients
  • Ability to match client needs with standard and bespoke solutions; implement developed strategies and manage projects to schedule; and prioritize in managing multiple deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with focus on clear explanation of relevant details
  • Strong comprehension skills as required to interpret legal documents, service documentation, client communications, etc.
  • Solid understanding of corporate financial statements and client industry dynamics
  • Organizational awareness with a commitment to continuous learning to ensure personal skills / knowledge / accreditations are current
  • Comfortable operating with frequently shifting priorities and complex problems requiring "out of the box" resolution
  • Interest in pursuing the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the US
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
