Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Vice President, Transportation Market Lead to join our Transportation Practice in the Greater Ottawa Area! This role follows a hybrid work model.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

The immediate and primary focus of the Transportation Market leader will be on promoting business development, managing and contributing to large projects, and ensuring the financial viability of the business line in Ottawa long-term. You should also use your extensive management experience related to roadway, bridge, hydrology/hydraulics, and infrastructure design projects to motivate and inspire others.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Work collaboratively with Gannett Fleming business lines and other offices to identify and pursue opportunities with Ottawa area public & private clients.
  • Develop and execute growth & hiring strategy in the Ottawa area.
  • Provide thought leadership, regulatory oversight, and mentorship to the developing and growing team and your clients, both internal and external.
  • Champion quality, excellence & other relevant corporate initiatives.
  • Serve as project manager on key assignments.
  • Serve as office principal/manager for acquired physical office space in Ottawa.

What you will bring to our firm:

  • 12+ years of related project experience on municipal roadway projects in Ontario and the Ottawa area.
  • P. Eng designation required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Direct experience in a project management capacity with the City of Ottawa.
  • Established relationships and proven experience winning pursuits with public and private clients in the Ottawa area.
  • Technical excellence in civil & roadway design.
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration, and claims resolution.

What we prefer you bring:

  • Experience in BRT, LRT including intermodal transit facilities.
  • Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects.
