About the role

We are seeking a Vice President, Specialty Lines Business Development. As an experienced National Business Development Leader you will spearhead our broker relationships and drive Specialty Lines business growth across the country. This role demands a strategic visionary who can lead a high-performing team, develop and execute robust growth plans on a $2 billion national portfolio with an ambitious goal of doubling it by 2030. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Speciality Lines business development, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to foster strong broker partnerships.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the Specialty Solutions Business Development team and define the broker value proposition for 23 specialized verticals.
  • Manage a $2 billion national business portfolio, aiming for double-digit growth and a goal of $4 billion by 2030.
  • Set clear objectives and growth plans for the territory, aligned with organizational goals.
  • Help develop and communicate the organization's vision, business plan, and growth strategies.
  • Develop and monitor a detailed growth plan for the territory in collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Be an Ambassador for the Intact Specialty Business attending Industry events and network with external stakeholders
  • Lead external engagement activities including regular national travel to meet with brokers and develop high value relationships.
  • Create and execute strategies to retain, develop, and expand business with brokers nationwide.
  • Become the key point person for all Specialty Broker matters both internally and externally
  • Work with brokers to develop, execute and monitorbusiness plans.
  • Inspire and manage the business development team to achieve high performance and commitment, overseeing aNational team of Business Development Managers.
  • Ensure team members develop their skills and prepare for future leadership roles.
  • Lead by example in applying best practices for managing change.

What you bring to the table :

  • Have a good knowledge of the brokerage network with commercial insurance practice.
  • Have a very good knowledge of commercial, auto and home insurance products.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, budget management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, engage and develop teams.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence & self-awareness - proven ability to lead through change, collaborating and building shared accountability and trust among large, cross functional anddiverse teams.
  • Be an excellent negotiator in moderate to complex situations.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, organization and proactivity.
  • Very good management of business under pressure.
  • Strive for excellence and be inspired by the client.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and Office 365.
  • Have a valid driver's licence with good driving record.
  • Bilingual (English / French) is a strong asset. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
