Driven by core values and a shared purpose, we’re fierce champions for better retirement security, known for our can-do culture where everyone plays a role in bringing our vision to life. If this sounds like a fit, we’d love you to be a part of it.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Vice President, Pension Solutions who is passionate about creating retirement security for Canadians workers by driving national scale impact through partnerships with union groups.

We’re looking for a strategic and relationship driven seasoned leader to drive growth of DBplus, our modern defined benefit pension plan, across Canada’s unionized workplaces. In this role, you will be the national face of our organization in labour partners by building trust, unlocking growth, and positioning DBplus as the pension of choice for union leaders and their members.

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you’ll spearhead our union focused growth strategy, working closely with the Vice President, Pension Solutions (Employers) to deliver a coordinated national approach. This is a rare opportunity to shape the retirement landscape of Canada’s unionized workplaces.

As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:

  • Lead a national growth strategy to expand DB plan participation in unionized workplaces across provinces, sectors, and industries.
  • Build and deepen relationships with national, provincial, and local union leaders, labour councils, and collective bargaining influencers.
  • Represent our plan at union conventions, industry roundtables, and pension forums—advocating for pension security and showcasing our value.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of pension growth professionals aligned with our mission, values, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Pension Solutions (Employers) to share intelligence, align strategies, and ensure a cohesive employer-union engagement approach.
  • Own the full business development cycle with union groups—from initial outreach to negotiation, proposal development, and onboarding.
  • Monitor market trends and union dynamics to inform strategy and help us stay ahead of emerging needs, opportunities, and challenges.

To Succeed, You Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in pensions, union relations, labour strategy, or financial services—preferably with national scope and multi-stakeholder complexity.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian pension models (DB, MEPP, JSPP, DC, RRSP) and the evolving retirement landscape.
  • Credibility and trust in the labour community, with a proven ability to work effectively with union executives, bargaining teams, Boards, and employer partners.
  • A strategic, growth-oriented mindset backed by a track record of building and scaling partnerships.
  • Leadership experience coaching and inspiring diverse teams to exceed performance expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to translate pension strategy into union-aligned value.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to travel frequently across Canada as required.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.
