Job description

Our global partner, with close to 100 years of industry-leading manufacturing experience and significant growth in Canada over the past 5 years, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead strategic operations for their Canadian business. The role involves creating a vision that prioritizes safety, drives efficiency, optimizes processes, and aligns strategically across the organization.

Responsibilities :

1. Create and communicate a clear vision for operations within Canada.
2. Direct manufacturing to meet specifications at the lowest cost while maintaining quality, reducing costs, and achieving customer service objectives.
3. Develop and implement logistical and distribution procedures to ensure effective and economical transportation and inventory management.
4. Lead collaboration across operational disciplines such as demand and production planning, procurement, quality assurance, safety, maintenance, logistics, and supply chain across sites.
5. Manage capital investment projects, budgets, and financial plans. Oversee equipment selection and installation, cost reduction programs, and capacity utilization.
6. Ensure GMP compliance, quality standards, and safe working conditions, maintaining necessary certifications.
7. Drive operational excellence through a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience :

1. Degree or diploma in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2. 10+ years of proven leadership in operations, preferably in food processing or multi-plant environments, with at least 5 years in strategic planning and team building.
3. Experience leading growth and expansion initiatives.
4. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) and lean principles experience preferred.
5. Experience with capital projects, design, and execution.
6. Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus.
7. Experience managing unionized and non-unionized workforces.
8. Ability to develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational effectiveness.
