Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Growth to join our leadership team. The VP of Growth will be a key leadership role within the organization and responsible for overseeing all revenue-generating activities, driving growth strategies, and ensuring the overall health of the company's revenue stream.

The ideal candidate will execute comprehensive strategies across marketing, sales, product, and partnerships to drive sustainable revenue growth for the company by identifying new market opportunities and product innovation, optimizing existing products and channels, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious expansion goals;they are expected to be data-driven, strategic thinkers with a proven track record in scaling businesses and increasing customer acquisition and market share.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Revenue Growth Planning : Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy aligned with the company's overall vision, identifying key market segments, product innovation, growth levers, and potential partnerships to maximize market penetration and increase market share across all sales channels in Canada and Internationally.
  • Sales Leadership : Lead and motivate a high performing sales team to achieve sales goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the overall company vision and KPIs.
  • Brand Ownership and Strategy : Complete ownership and implementation of the branded strategies across multiple product categories to enhance brand perception, market penetration and customer retention across all touchpoints.
  • Market Insights : Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, leveraging insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Partnership Development and Management : Establish and maintain relationships with key strategic partners, Provincial distributors, and retailers to enhance market access and brand visibility. Focus on customer retention and lifetime value by optimizing customer engagement strategies, improving customer experience, and identifying upselling / cross-selling opportunities.
  • Product Development & Innovation : Collaborate with product teams to identify and prioritize product features and enhancements that drive customer value and market differentiation. Overseeing product life cycle management by monitoring and tracking all products from initial concept and design stage, in-market performance with customer feedback and ultimate product retirement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with marketing, innovation, operations, supply chain, and other departments to align revenue strategies with product offerings and market demand.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making : Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to assess and refine revenue strategies, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth. Track performance and make informed decisions on all categories the company participates in, adjust strategies as needed and present regular reports to the executive team.
  • Project Management Oversight : Plan and organize a yearly commercial calendar, working cross functionally between teams to ensure deadlines are met and concurrent product launches are best set up for success.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Stay informed of industry regulations and compliance requirements to navigate the complex landscape of the cannabis market effectively. Ensure all initiatives are compliant with The Cannabis Act.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting : Oversee the revenue budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with revenue targets.
  • Performance Metrics : Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate sales success and support strategic adjustments where necessary.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business, or a related field; an MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in a senior revenue or sales leadership role, ideally within the cannabis or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing revenue growth strategies that drive organizational success.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian cannabis market and regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
