Vice President of Finance and Risk

Heritage Co-op is hiring a Vice President (VP) of Finance and Risk to join our team. With a strong presence in southwestern Manitoba, Heritage Co-op offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact. The VP will be based out of our Administration Office, which is in the town of Minnedosa, MB.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the CEO and working as a strategic partner within the senior leadership team, you will develop and implement the overall financial and risk strategy for Heritage Co-op, including:

• Managing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities, and developing risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization’s assets, earning capacity, and overall success.
• Engaging in corporate performance management, strategic planning, and cross-commodity collaboration to ensure overall strategy alignment, planning, and consistency for the organization.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with the senior leadership team to provide guidance and support in sales growth, financial, and operational improvements.
• Providing strategic leadership for the Finance, Risk, and Administrative business units to ensure the departments are operated under legal, safe, and ethical standards.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

• Have 10+ years of proven expertise in a senior-level finance or accounting role, bringing a deep understanding of financial management.
• A CPA, MBA, or relevant audit-related certifications are considered an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
• Have a proven track record of driving team success, especially while managing complex, sometimes conflicting objectives.
• Have expertise in accounting software and spreadsheet applications, along with a solid grasp of risk management strategies and concepts.
