In this position as Vice President of Sales, you'll provide direction and leadership to achieve regional National Accounts Services sales goals within budget and implement strategic plan objectives at the regional field level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Responsibilities

  • Establish a budget for the Canadian sales group that will maximize growth in the segment. He or she will ensure that the budgeted goals are achieved and that revenue and cost objectives are met.
  • This includes managing the area’s direct and indirect selling and set-up expense budget objectives.
  • Prepare a business plan to identify how the region will achieve the assigned sales goals and work closely with direct reports to implement the Business Plan for the area and each region.
  • Work directly with the most Senior Leaders/Vice President of Sales and Senior Leadership Team in developing the business strategy, with an emphasis on initiatives to create growth and improve revenue and overall company performance. Work closely with other cross-functional areas to ensure the smooth implementation of sales.
  • Ensure alignment of ADP’s objectives and initiatives to changing general and specific business conditions and develop innovative programs to address these changes while still maintaining relevance to the brand and business strategies.
  • Responsible for human resource management activities for the area, such as maintaining proper staffing levels, attaining desired employee retention rates, employee relations, performance management, and incorporating excellent employee communication channels. Communicate effectively to the group about major objectives and initiatives and provide effective oversight of deliverables.
  • Manage the implementation and proper execution of career development and succession plans to ensure that career path opportunities are communicated to all levels of sales personnel and build a future pipeline.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the corporate brand image to reflect the current and future strategy and value proposition of the company.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

  • University degree required, preferably in Business or Marketing
  • 15 + years total sales experience plus substantial senior sales management experience, with a proven ability to manage a large sales team and deliver sales growth.
  • At least 10+ years of people leadership experience, preferably as a Leader of Leaders; ability to develop others.
  • Has demonstrated outstanding sales, leadership and business planning capability.
  • Partners with various business teams to achieve sales, revenue, profit and client retention objectives.
  • Experience managing in a process-oriented, metrics-driven, fast-paced, large sales organization.
  • Able to lead change.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with assessing client requirements, making recommendations and engaging solutions delivery.
  • Experience in a US or international subsidiary environment would be an asset.
