What You’ll Be Doing
Digital Marketing Strategy & Performance Marketing
  • Create digital and direct marketing experiences that will surprise and delight our clients, advance our digital sales and marketing capabilities, drive consumer awareness and deliver on CIBC’s digital sales targets, via performance marketing.
  • Champion digital banking acceleration, expanding and growing CIBC’s digital marketing by leveraging existing and new capabilities to drive acquisition and sales across all LOBs through optimization, personalization and organic search on both public and secure sites.
  • Develop, analyze and optimize omni-channel digital and direct Marketing strategy across the digital channels (CIBC.com, email, online banking, mobile banking and ATM), with an emphasis on in-market digital optimization analytics and on site digital optimization.
  • Oversee and execute digital campaign activity (personalization, retargeting strategies, etc.) in an agile test and learn environment.
  • Build, develop and lead digital operations team across Quality and Compliance, Delivery and QA / Testing. Act as enterprise centre of excellence for digital delivery and expand team and capabilities to support new use cases and business units across the enterprise.
  • Partner with Digital Platforms and Client Engagement leaders to optimize operating model.
  • Leverage Customer Relationship Management and third party database to implement online and offline programs to broaden reach and grow our consumer database.
  • Deepen client relationships and customer lifetime value through hyper-personalized engagements and experiences.
  • Be the principal executive CIBC Ambassador for our marketing agency partners who support the Digital and Direct mandates.
Transformation
  • Oversee the identification and selection of the right Martech and Adtech investments, including agentic AI technologies, in line with the overall strategy and aimed at driving digital performance, efficiency, and automation.
  • Develop an optimized Marketing stack, and 3-year Martech roadmap, to ensure that Marketing is always equipped with innovative capabilities.
  • Drive and facilitate delivery of Marketing transformational strategies to accelerate business performance, process automation, and overall improvement.
  • Lead the priority setting, sequencing, funding and governance of transformational projects and programs, which result in a portfolio of initiatives for the current year or multi-year investments and deliverables.
  • Lead the initiative team to deliver initiatives in line with program approach and principles, roadmap and milestones. Includes identifying and managing change impacts, risks, and complexities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to establish expectations and provide updates throughout the delivery of the program.
Operational / Business Effectiveness
  • Establish the measurement infrastructure for data capture and reporting, overseeing the application for various methods to analyze and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Identify best practices and opportunities to optimize design, experience, messaging and content to maximize campaign effectiveness and share key insights across the organization and with members of the board.
  • Relentlessly pursue and adopt new technologies, processes, and ways of working to continuously shorten cycle times from data to insights to actions, to enable ever-faster continuous optimization in support of improved marketing and business outcomes.
  • Take a long term and enterprise view of the business, by ensuring that marketing outputs support our bank strategy and enterprise goals, while keeping us on a strong glidepath to brand growth.
  • Become a strong business partner with product leads, by delivering marketing materials, promotions, and ideas that help drive sales.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive internal partnerships / relationships with senior bank leaders, SBU and LOB peers and senior executives, and marketing peers. Live the vision and values of our bank each and every day, and use them as a strong influence on behavior, relationship building and decision making.
What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing communications principles, exceptional media literacy, and strong comprehension of marketing strategy (brand architecture, briefs, insight development).
  • Advanced management / leadership skills sufficient to lead and motivate a number of professional marketers and planners in achieve goals and objectives in a complex environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and savvy : navigating relationships and workstreams within complex and matrixed organizations.
  • Advanced presentation and interactive skills so that complex, conceptual information and ideas are presented in an influential and clear manner, while substantiated by facts.
  • Mature, courageous leadership that enables contributions and negotiations that facilitate good decisions on complex matters of business policy and strategy. Particularly where differing views present themselves.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships – vendor evaluations, contracts, and compensation frameworks, particularly within agency client service models.
  • Expertise in business analytics that comprehend sales, financials, and return on investment in order to build and contribute to an enterprise mindset of success.
  • Comfortable with influencing decisions among leaders at all levels of the organization, with an intelligent and balanced way of communicating in all instances regardless of level.
  • Expert knowledge of the digital media landscape in particular, and an ability to lead media plans with a digital focus including social media.
