Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer with extensive experience in trading systems to lead our new Client Success team for our Horizon platform. The successful candidate will be a problem solver, working closely with clients to understand their requirements and issues, designing complex solutions whilst maintaining application performance, and leading a team of Client Success engineer specialists. As they establish themselves in role, they will become a trusted expert, both to clients and others in the business, relied upon for their strong technical skills and understanding of key underlying systems.

This role is the first of its kind in our North America office, requiring close collaboration with our London office to ensure a seamless development process and client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the Client Success team for the Horizon platform.
  2. Design solutions to client issues, providing expert-level support to build bespoke features/functionality and resolve complex technical issues related to trading systems.
  3. Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and reliability of the Horizon platform.
  4. Collaborate with other engineering and product teams to address and resolve application issues.
  5. Implement and manage processes for managing client development requests and managing incidents.
  6. Develop and maintain documentation, including FAQs, user guides, and procedures for clients and other users.
  7. Conduct regular training and mentoring sessions for Client Success team members.
  8. Gather and analyze support metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Serve as the primary point of contact for client escalations.
  10. Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients regarding support issues and resolutions.

Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in client success, application support, or a related role, with significant experience in trading systems ideally within banking sectors.
  3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  4. Proficiency in Python (and preferably additional experience with Rust).
  5. Experience with application monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbally.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  8. This role will initially be remote with the intention to transition to hybrid, therefore any successful candidate must be within feasible commuting distance of St John's.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with financial risk management software or platforms.
  2. Knowledge of AWS computing platforms and services.
