Job description

Take your career to unprecedented heights.

This is your opportunity to elevate London Hydro’s reputation as a technology leader and lead a talented team in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

We’re seeking an innovative and strategic technology leader with a proven track record in digital transformation, information systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, SAP ERP, and large-scale IT project delivery. If you thrive on navigating complex challenges and shaping digital futures, this is your moment to make a lasting impact.

In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape—marked by emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and growing regulatory expectations—IT plays a critical role. As Vice President, IT & CIO, you’ll define and execute London Hydro’s technology strategy to ensure secure, customer-centric operations.

At this pivotal time, the successful candidate will focus on two enterprise priorities:

  • Completing and stabilizing a new S/4HANA-based Customer Information and Billing System, essential for service innovation and efficiency.
  • Leading a cross-functional regulatory initiative to support and defend a comprehensive rate application before the regulator.

Both require a CIO who is not only technically strong, but also collaborative, business-minded, and enterprise-focused.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor multi-disciplinary IT teams to ensure performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and implement a multi-year IT & Cybersecurity roadmap aligned with business goals. Support the Strategic Plan with innovation, operational excellence, and a customer-first focus.
  • Enterprise Systems & Applications: Oversee IT systems and applications, including SAP, productivity tools, and user platforms. Ensure effective project delivery, continuous improvement, and a positive user experience.
  • Digital Transformation & Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies. Ensure successful IT project execution aligned with business goals and high delivery standards.
  • Cybersecurity & IT Governance: Develop and maintain cybersecurity protocols and governance frameworks. Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards (e.g., Ontario Cyber Security Framework). Champion a culture of cyber awareness and risk mitigation.
  • IT Infrastructure, AMI & OT Support: Ensure performance and integration of IT infrastructure. Guide cloud migration and hybrid security. Support AMI systems and collaborate on OT cybersecurity and strategy with Engineering & Operations.
  • Operational & Financial Oversight: Manage IT operating and capital budgets. Align investments with long-term business objectives, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build partnerships with vendors and stakeholders. Participate in Board meetings and represent London Hydro in industry forums and regulatory committees.
  • Shared Services: Promote opportunities to share technology solutions and expertise with industry partners, generating value and collaboration.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

We welcome candidates whose qualifications were developed through a variety of pathways. London Hydro may consider alternative education or experience to meet requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate education an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years in senior IT leadership, including digital transformation, infrastructure, ERP, cybersecurity, and AMI.
  • Certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP, CISM) are assets.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., OEB, NIST, NERC CIP).
  • Utilities or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and related platforms.
  • Familiarity with OEB and OBCA compliance and governance.
  • Proven leadership, project management, change management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience collaborating with Boards, executives, and external partners.
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex IT topics for diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and G-Suite.
