What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC Asset Management Inc. (CAM) provides discretionary and non-discretionary investment management services to institutional clients that include pension funds, endowments and foundations, insurance companies, corporate entities etc. The investment services range from equities (Canadian and non-Canadian), fixed income, private markets, currency, commodities and asset allocation strategies. Some of the offerings are on an active basis while others are managed passively.

Under the direction of the Vice President & Head, Institutional Client Servicing the incumbent is responsible for delivering best-in-class servicing of institutional clients as well as making strong contributions to the firm’s strategic project initiatives and participating in the development and implementation of servicing policies, standards and client servicing strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and pursuing business development opportunities within their existing client base and the broader institutional market as well as participating in sales presentations with prospective clients and contributing to institutional marketing, RFP and consultant relations efforts.

How You’ll Succeed
- Client engagement - Providing best-in-class direct client servicing to institutional clients and using your knowledge of the Province of Quebec and broader global institutional market to retain and grow client relationships. This includes ad hoc and regular investment review meetings to ensure that the requirements of each client are being met on an ongoing basis. Enhance existing and prospective client relationships through regular informal meetings and touchpoints and as such, regular travel is required. Work collaboratively with the Client Portfolio Management and Portfolio Management teams to effectively understand client objectives and to develop and present advisory solutions.
- Relationship building - Liaise with internal CIBC partners on an ongoing basis to enhance client connectivity. Identifying and implementing strategies to cross-sell institutional strategies to existing and prospective clients. Enhancing our partnership with leading insurance and other Capital Accumulation Plan (DC) platforms through effective and thoughtful engagement on incumbent and potential strategies that meet the needs of plan participants.
- Integrated solutions - Under the supervision of the Vice President & Head, Institutional Client Servicing, the incumbent participates in the development and implementation of client servicing policies and standards. Monitoring of the risk level in the clientele on an ongoing basis and implementation of strategies to address clients at risk. Contributes to marketing, RFP, consultant relations efforts and other institutional projects.
Who You Are
- You’re a certified professional. You have a University degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Actuarial Science. Preferably, you have current accreditation with the CFA Institute along with applicable Securities commission requirements for advising institutional clients.
- You can demonstrate experience in at least two of the following: Institutional Client Servicing, Institutional Sales/Marketing, Portfolio Management, Asset consulting. You have extensive experience in the Province of Quebec institutional market. You can communicate professionally and expertly in writing in both french and English.
