What we are looking for:

The Vice President of Finance & Controller, Canada, will be a key finance leader for Fiera Capital Corporation (FCC), reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer. This role oversees all financial controllership aspects of FCC, including financial statements for various funds in Canada, statutory filings, audits, and day-to-day financial management. The role also supports treasury and tax matters, leading a team of up to 8 finance professionals, and collaborates with multiple internal teams. The position is based in Toronto, with occasional travel to other locations.

Your responsibilities:

1. Lead the accounting and financial reporting for Fiera Capital Corporation’s audited non-consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
2. Oversee the production of fund financial statements and compliance with local regulations.
3. Manage the annual audit process and present findings to the internal audit committee.
4. Coordinate with custodian/administrator teams regarding financial reporting.
5. Assist in preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and analyses.
6. Support the development of forecasts and budgets for Fiera Capital Canada.
7. Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence.
8. Support treasury and tax initiatives within the region.
9. Develop and lead a scalable accounting team, ensuring effective internal controls and management reporting.
10. Establish and document accounting policies aligned with global standards.
11. Manage relationships with external auditors.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

Education & Accreditation:

• CPA, CA designation
• University degree in Accounting or Commerce

Experience & Skills:

• At least 15 years of professional experience, including 7-10 years in asset management, corporate finance, and fund accounting.
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms.
• Strong leadership and employee development skills.
• Expertise in IFRS accounting standards and complex technical issues.
• Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with SAP S/4Hana, SAP Group Reporting, and Workiva is a plus.
