The Role :
We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and talented Vice President, Finance to join the growing team at Bridgemans! This role is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for driving strategic financial planning and compliance for the organization's financial operations, comprised of Accounting & Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis, across multiple assets, entities, and jurisdictions, to ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and contract terms and conditions.

- Are a seasoned CPA who has built an 18+ year career of technical excellence and outstanding leadership in full cycle accounting and financial planning and analysis;
- Have demonstrated mastery of multi-currency treasury management in an asset intensive global operating environment;

- Have taken a leadership role with financial partners including external accountants and lenders, developing key relationships and a best-in-class network of trusted partners to growing businesses; and

Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Management : Oversee the soundness and accuracy of the organization's financial systems and processes across multiple jurisdictions, entity types, and operating lines, maintaining a service provider model to the rest of the organization
- Corporate Finance : Develop asset acquisition and replenishment strategies and plans, ensuring sufficient capital is available for operating and capital needs while minimizing cost of capital through effective lending and financing arrangements and reducing foreign exchange risk.
- Financial Reporting : Provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting and information to internal and external stakeholders to facilitate business decisions, provide critical information for new operations, and achieve clean audits and worry free lending relationships.
- Accounting Systems, Policies, Procedures, Controls & Audit : Ensure appropriate and relevant accounting standards are followed, with controls and procedures in place to minimize risk and optimize controls.
- Financial Planning & Analysis : Support the operations and business development roles in the organization with accurate and insightful financial analysis to efficiently prepare client proposals with appropriate costing details and accuracy as well as provide timely information, customized to the needs of operations, to make critical business decisions.
- Financial Risk Management : Ensure best practice treasury, foreign exchange and capital management processes and procedures are in place to reduce cost of capital and minimize fluctuation risk.
- Departmental & Team Management : Together with the Director, Human Resources, recruit, develop and mentor a top performing team of finance and accounting professionals who constantly seek efficiencies and achieve excellence in their areas of expertise while being responsive to the competing needs of all stakeholders, relying on results based key performance indicators to define and measure success.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in a similar function, at least eight (8) years of which is in a leadership capacity
- Relevant industry experience (marine, transportation, logistics or similar) in organizations with at least $100M of revenue generated through the ownership and operation of significant revenue generating assets through a skilled and semi-skilled workforce
- Demonstrable experience in developing and leading Accounting & Reporting functions
- Demonstrable experience in developing and leading Financial Planning & Analysis functions
- Demonstrable experience managing finance teams in a multiple jurisdiction, multiple entity business with international operations
- Expert level understanding of ASPE, GAAP, IFRS in similar businesses
- Exceptional comprehension and command of the English language (written and verbal)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada, without restriction
