  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to cross-functional teams while collaborating with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, bankers, and partners.
  • Hire, coach, and lead a high-performing Finance team, fostering development, performance, and collaboration.

Finance Operations & Reporting

  • Lead all financial operations for an institutional-grade portfolio of multi-family and hospitality assets across major Canadian markets.
  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements (including 3rd party audits).
  • Ensure delivery of clear financial reports to the executive team, including forecasts, capital management updates, and performance insights.
  • Manage budgeting processes in collaboration with property management teams.
  • Ensure proper financial systems and software are in place for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Taxation & Compliance

  • Act as the main point of contact for taxation matters related to various Holding Companies.
  • Work closely with external accountants on Canadian tax, U.S. tax, and EIFEL compliance.
  • Oversee Holding Company investments, tax planning, cash flows, and debt, providing insight into investment strategies and performance.
  • Capital Markets & Investment Strategy

  • Participate in asset acquisitions, reorganizations, and systems implementations, including negotiations and due diligence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with capital market partners to meet the company’s funding needs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on debt financing strategies, including CMHC and conventional lending, and ensure all covenant reporting and lender requirements are met.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and due diligence for investment opportunities, including the development of financial models and investor presentation materials.
  • Act as a liaison for key external partners, including lenders, legal counsel, real estate brokers, advisors, hotel management teams (Hilton and Marriott), and investors.
