Purpose:

Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Finance oversees financial matters for our companies. This managerial role involves a hands-on approach to all aspects of the organization’s finances, with responsibilities including maximizing profits, planning for growth, analyzing data, and advising the CEO and CFO on strategic decisions.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide leadership to the financial reporting team to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely deliverables.
  2. Collaborate with FP&A team to ensure consistent reporting and processes across portfolio companies.
  3. Review financial processes and policies to ensure accurate consolidation of financial reports.
  4. Prepare reporting packages for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  5. Review and advise on legal agreements, considering impacts on insurance, leasing, credit, and supply agreements.
  6. Develop reporting packages and forecast models for capital raising.
  7. Oversee compliance with regulations and legislation.
  8. Manage strategic projects, including data gathering, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder communication.
  9. Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, contracts, consolidation, inventory management, and treasury is beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • University degree plus a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA; MBA preferred).
  • 7-10 years of progressive financial and business management experience.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, business cases, and briefings.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents and contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills, including to senior executives.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong time management to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Research and analytical skills for process development and impact assessment.
  • Developed business acumen.
