Location : Cambridge, ON (preferred), with international travel required

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAJOR DUTIES :

Senior financial executive responsible for strategic and financial planning & reporting, project management accounting, operations, and business development in global organizations. Organizes, directs, and controls the division’s financial and accounting activities, including developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls for financial management and information systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Participate in developing strategic business plans and objectives, sharing responsibility for general management as part of the senior executive team.
  2. Manage the division’s finance, controlling, and accounting leaders.
  3. Oversee all finance functions including operational accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, controlling, tax planning, compliance, and internal controls.
  4. Act as a strategic financial partner with operations, involved in acquisitions, contract negotiations, financing, and due diligence.
  5. Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as EBIT, cash flow, and RONA.
  6. Manage monthly division metrics and corporate reporting.
  7. Lead financial management and create rigorous controls for the division.
  8. Coordinate financial affairs according to principles and regulations.
  9. Provide financial analysis to guide management, including cash flow, costs, expenses, and financial statements analysis.
  10. Prepare reports on the company’s financial position, including income, expenses, and earnings.
  11. Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and information systems for efficiency and cost reduction.
  12. Direct the preparation of directives for policy and operational changes.
  13. Manage receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of funds and assets.
  14. Approve monetary transactions and sign related documents.
  15. Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing requests for cost reductions and budget allocations.
  16. Lead the finance team to meet short and long-term objectives.
  17. Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, and the financial community.
  18. Negotiate and sign multi-year contracts and commitments.
  19. Ensure all activities comply with ethical standards and the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  20. Adhere to health and safety rules and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent. A professional designation such as CA, CMA, or CGA is required.

Experience :

  • 8-10+ years of senior financial and controlling experience in manufacturing or related environments.
  • Expertise in project costing, designing, and managing business systems, with experience in mergers, acquisitions, financial reporting, treasury, compliance, and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven as a trusted business partner and leader capable of developing high-performance teams.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure accuracy.
