Job summary

Professional Staffing is conducting a confidential search for a Vice President of Finance to join a growing organization west of Toronto. This high-impact executive role partners with a senior leadership team to drive financial strategy, planning, reporting, controls, and performance.

The successful candidate will bring CPA designation, strong commercial and financial leadership, and a record of partnering with executives to inform business decisions. Eligible to work in Canada is required.

Qualifications

  • Senior finance leadership experience at VP/CFO level.
  • Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
  • Experience leading finance teams in a complex, multi-functional organization.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.
  • Experience developing financial strategies that support growth and profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, governance and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall finance function and provide strategic financial leadership to the organization.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team on business strategy, growth initiatives, financial performance, and decision-making.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights, KPIs, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, establishing strong processes, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Work closely with operational leaders to understand business drivers and translate financial information into actionable recommendations.
  • Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, investments, and other corporate projects as required.
  • Evaluate financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors, financial institutions, and other key partners.

We are conducting a confidential search for a Vice President of Finance to join a growing and established organization West of Toronto

This is a high-impact leadership position for a finance executive who can serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership while overseeing financial operations, planning, reporting, controls, and business performance.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial and financial leadership, the ability to operate in a complex and growing organization, and a track record of partnering with executives to drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
  • Senior finance leadership experience, ideally at the VP Finance, CFO, Divisional CFO, or equivalent level.
  • Strong background in financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead finance teams in a complex, multi-functional organization.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.
  • Experience developing financial strategies that support growth and profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, governance, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level.
  • Strong systems and technology orientation with the ability to improve finance processes and reporting.
  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA is an asset.
