Job description

We are looking for a seasoned professional to oversee the delivery of large-scale residential projects. This person will have to demonstrate strategic leadership in order to guide the construction teams based in Montreal. This strategic role of Vice-President construction includes the management of operations and the planning of future projects.

Your role

In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and as VP construction, you will take charge of the complete management of the construction phase of our various projects (2 teams) including all aspects from initial planning to final delivery while respecting the rigor required in terms of quality, safety and environmental standards. You will also be a key player in the supervision and skills development of teams in the field.

  • Team management : Mobilize and lead a team of construction professionals by promoting a collaborative culture. Work with the project management team (project managers, coordinators, etc.) and the site management team (superintendents, prevention officers, etc.).
  • Monitoring operations : Guarantee quality, deadlines and budget control throughout projects.
  • Coordination of stakeholders : Communicate and coordinate effectively internal teams, professionals, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the smooth running and delivery of the project.
  • Supervision of the construction process : Lead and supervise the entire construction process, ensuring that it meets all quality, schedule and budget requirements.
  • Awarding contracts : Participate in the process with the procurement and estimating team by validating the delivery schedule, completion and compliance of materials.
  • Strategic optimization : Implement effective strategies to optimize resources and construction operations.
  • Health and safety : Actively ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Budget management : Monitor costs and ensure optimal use of available resources.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Building or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in managing complex residential projects in Quebec.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead and manage a multidisciplinary construction team.
  • Construction planning skills, with a strong ability to manage and optimize budgets and resources.
  • Proven sense of priority management and regular availability at construction sites.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in planning tools such as Excel, MS Project and Procore (an asset).
  • Bilingualism in French and English to ensure clear communication in various communications with the team and stakeholders.
