Job description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and as a member of the Executive Management Committee (EMC), the Vice-President, Capital Stewardship, provides leadership in the achievement of NCC objectives and is responsible and accountable for the development and implementation of policies and programs governing the effective management, conservation and stewardship of all of the NCC's outdoor spaces, including Gatineau Park, the Greenbelt, NCC urban parks, its pathways network and more. The incumbent is also responsible for the management and improvement of the properties, grounds and infrastructures of Canada’s six Official Residences in the National Capital Region.

While based at NCC’s headquarters in downtown Ottawa, the incumbent is expected to regularly survey NCC assets throughout the National Capital Region with the goal of maximizing public use and enjoyment, upholding the NCC’s commitment to design, conservation and maintenance excellence as well as developing new ideas to animate and activate the NCC’s extensive lands and properties.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION : University degree in a discipline related to the position. A master’s degree is considered an asset.

EXPERIENCE : A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive senior management level experience in each of the following areas :

  • Providing strategic advice to the most senior levels in the organization.
  • Negotiation, collaboration and resolution of complex issues with other levels of government.
  • Directing multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing corporate strategic and operational frameworks and programs.
  • Managing financial and Human Resources.
  • Leading change management initiatives.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
