The Vice President, Retail Investments, a strategic thinker with a highly effective and proven sales capability, will support Coben Investments Wealth Management Division’s sales strategy and overall capital raising program. Leveraging retail channels, through digital marketing, in-person events, webinars and robust referral networks, the Vice President will be tasked with being part of a highly effective sales team focused on raising investor capital for Coben Investments’ real estate funds and other alternative investment products.
The successful candidate is a natural sales leader with extremely strong presentation capabilities. This individual will be the face of Coben Investment’s Wealth Management Division within market and with our capital partners. This individual will have a proven track record of capital raising through direct to retail channels, with deep relationships across high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, mortgage brokers, lawyers, and/or other key professionals such as dentists and family offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Lead and evolve the Wealth Management Division’s sales strategy channels, capital partner relationships, and high-performing sales team.
- Network Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with HNW/UHNW individuals, mortgage brokers, wealth managers, family offices, and key referral partners.
- Investment Process: Optimize, track, and enhance the sales funnel to maximize investor engagement and conversion
- Business Building: Scale the business for significant growth over the next 12 – 18 months and beyond
- Referral Networks: Develop and expand strategic referral networks, focusing on professionals such as financial advisors, mortgage brokers, and industry-specific groups like dentist, lawyers and other medical professionals.
- Presentations & Roadshows: Deliver compelling presentations and attend investor roadshows and networking events, being the face of Coben Investments Wealth Management Division and capturing net new capital sources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the firm’s leadership, marketing and investment teams to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of industry trends, investor preferences, and competitor activities to effectively position investment products within the market.
Leading Qualifications
- Canadian Investment background is a must.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in capital markets/investment distribution sales, with a focus on real estate
funds or related private market investments.
- Proven track record of capital raising success and building strong referral networks.
- Proven ability to scale and lead high-performing sales teams
- Extensive network within the HNW, UHNW, and related professional communities (mortgage brokers, dentists,
etc.).
- Extremely strong presentation skills, with experience delivering high-impact presentations to retail investors.
- Exceptional communication and sales negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic
- Knowledge of the real estate market is strongly preferred.
