Job summary

Phase Consulting is conducting a confidential search for a senior executive to build their Canadian mining practice. The Vice-President, Canada will own strategy, business development, P&L, and delivery, reporting to the Executive, New Ventures and then to the Group CEO as the operation grows.

You will lead client development, own profits, stay hands-on across disciplines, and manage a hybrid team while travel across Canada and beyond features in the role.

Qualifications

• Significant Canadian mining industry experience.
• 15+ years in mining with senior leadership experience.
• Consulting/advisory background is an asset.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to travel regularly across Canada.
• P.Eng. or P.Geo registration or eligible.
• Capability toward NI 43-101 Qualified/Competent Person status.

Responsibilities

• Win new clients and build a pipeline across the Canadian mining landscape, including the Americas.
• Own the P&L for the Canadian operation.
• Stay technically hands-on and generate consulting revenue while providing oversight.
• Lead a hybrid team of Canadian consultants, subcontractors, and the global technical bench.
• Represent the firm publicly and align with its Global Board.

Phase Consulting is conducting this confidential search on behalf of our client, an established international mining consultancy with a strong global presence and a growing footprint in Canada. Trusted by blue-chip and junior clients across mining engineering, geological modelling, metallurgical/industrial engineering, risk management and related studies and project work, this client is launching their Canadian operation. They need the executive who will set the strategy, attract and sign clients, and build the firm's reputation across Canadian mining, backed by the resources of an established international firm.

The Role

As Vice-President, Canada, you'll be our client's most senior executive in the country, with full accountability for strategy, business development, P&L, and technical delivery. You'll report to the firm's Executive, New Ventures during this build-out, transitioning to a direct line to the Group CEO — with a clear future development path to broader group leadership as the business scales.

You will:

• Win new clients and build a pipeline across the Canadian mining landscape, including any potential business in the Americas.
• Own the P&L for the Canadian operation
• Stay technically hands-on — this is an operating role, personally generating consulting revenue and providing oversight across disciplines
• Lead a hybrid team of Canadian consultants, subcontractors, and the firm's global technical bench
• Represent the firm publicly and align closely with its Global Board

What You Bring

• Significant Canadian mining industry experience — essential.
• 15+ years in mining, including senior leadership experience.
• A consulting/advisory background is an asset, ideally including some prior owner's-side or operations experience.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to travel regularly across Canada, plus occasional international travel.
• Proven business development track record and P&L ownership is an asset.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• P.Eng. or P.Geo registration, or clear eligibility.
• Capability toward Qualified/Competent Person status under NI 43-101.

Where You'll Be Based

Anywhere in Canada — hybrid, with regular travel to client sites, mines and conferences.
