Role Overview

The Vice President of Architecture, Cybersecurity & Integration (ACSI) is responsible for the full lifecycle of cloud and on-premises solutions, encompassing integration, architecture, and cybersecurity. This includes strategic planning, design, implementation, and ongoing sustainment. Working closely with the CTO, this senior leader will oversee a portfolio of initiatives that drive innovation, enhance security, optimize costs, and align technology capabilities with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Defines, negotiates, and delivers all IT services related to the evaluation, selection, planning, design, development, implementation, and support of ACSI solutions
  • Proactively researches ACSI leading practices and has a keen eye on trends in real estate industry solutions, and keeps IT and key business leaders up to date on all ACSI matters
  • Plays a stewardship role overseeing the health of the entire ACSI portfolio and seeks opportunities to standardize solutions wherever possible, and leverages existing tools, application assets, and resources before seeking new solutions

Enhances third-party vendor and partner relationship ecosystem, includes sourcing and negotiating service agreements with qualified vendor’s, managing ongoing vendor performance, and working with vendors to proactively drive greater value and synergies through all vendor relationships

  • Manages the resolution of any escalated production application incidents/ problems

Develops ACSI capital and operating budgets and ensures teams adherence to approved budgets Advises the organization on the most appropriate application delivery and support methodologies (such as DevOps, Agile and Waterfall) best suited to delivering the client's initiative portfolio

  • Acts as a primary liaison between the IT teams, lines of business and other stakeholders to understand business and IT strategies and priorities.
  • Creates and fosters a “customer centric” culture in all ACSI team interactions
  • Champions organizational change management activities (training and communication).
  • Acts as a mentor and coach to the ACSI team and guides the building of tailored development plans for all team members, focusing on both soft and hard technical skill development
  • Promotes effective teamwork and manages the resolution of interpersonal issues
  • Leads succession-planning with team members and works with CTO to develop a succession plan for self
  • Ensures the entire ACSI team including extended delivery vendors and partners have clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; ensure clear performance expectations are documented for each team member

Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or engineering or directly related specialized training and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in either architecture, cybersecurity, or integrations
  • Minimum of 5 years in management roles showing steady progression through levels
  • Experience with systems and applications management including systems / application design, IT management, business analysis, consulting, process engineering or solutions management
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Strong understanding of the real estate business and key related business processes across multiple real estate asset classes (office, industrial, retail, and residential) as well as investment management
  • Knowledge of regulated environments and audits (PCI, SOC, PIPEDA, GDPR) considered an asset

Top Skills Necessary

  • Executive Leadership - 5+ years’ experience in a executive level leadership role this could be Director, VP or AVP level.
  • Have managed direct reports – Provided leadership to others through technical direction, mentorship, onboarding/offboarding and created the necessary organizational relationships to get buy in from others to move projects forward.
  • Architecture Experience - Have acted as an Enterprise Architect (or Solution Architect) on at least two cloud application implementations throughout the entire development lifecycle from concept development to maintenance.
  • Cybersecurity Experience – Completed at least 2 major information security projects (e.g., DLP, IAM, SSO, MDM/EMM), showcasing effective risk management, incident response, and the ability to enforce security policies across the organization.
