Purpose
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for global advanced analytics and data-driven insights, supporting business strategies in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Develops and implements strategies to embed analytics capabilities, fostering growth across business lines and corporate functions, including:
  • Collaborates with business leaders to adopt industry-leading analytics for improved models, client experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures consistency of analytics approach globally and supports connectivity of business strategies across regions.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to uncover insights and translate findings into strategic actions for Scotiabank and its clients.
  • Collaborates with CIDA, Technology, and business partners to develop and deliver trusted data and analytics solutions.
Accountabilities
  • Leads a customer-focused culture, deepening client relationships and leveraging bank-wide systems and knowledge.
  • Delivers analytics capabilities aligned with business outcomes, building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Identifies opportunities to integrate insights into strategies based on emerging trends.
  • Builds analytics capabilities, leveraging external benchmarks and translating strategies into customer-centric solutions.
  • Partners within CIDA to establish effective data and analytics operating models.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships to promote critical thinking and change leadership.
  • Ensures the execution and delivery of analytics objectives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Supports initiatives to enhance Scotiabank's global analytics capabilities.
  • Establishes and oversees procedures for data, analytics, and technology compliance, risk mitigation, and security.
  • Communicates risk culture and manages operational, compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risks effectively.
  • Builds a high-performance, inclusive team environment, managing succession and development.
  • Implements controls to identify, report, and monitor risks, escalating breaches promptly.
Education / Experience / Other Information
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years in executive roles involving analytics and business development, preferably in financial services.
  • Expertise in data modeling, machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics tools.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate analytics into insights.
  • Proven success in leading large, distributed teams in complex environments.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and storytelling skills to inspire organizational change.
  • Knowledge of digital customer experience trends.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment; non-standard hours and global travel required.
