Job description

AVP, Sourcing and Procurement Operations, Tower Lead

The AVP, Sourcing and Procurement Operations – Tower Lead reports to the VP Procurement, North America, and is responsible for developing and leading a team focused on sourcing and procurement operations. The role emphasizes improving procurement lead times, executing process improvements and strategic sourcing opportunities, and developing dashboards to highlight areas for improvement. A background in process improvement or Six Sigma, along with expertise in building operations functions, is preferred. The leader will also shape procurement strategies and initiatives to build value, especially during a transformation period focused on industry trends and agility.

This position requires a diligent professional with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset, and procurement expertise within a large, sophisticated matrix organization.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Lead all aspects of a cohesive sourcing and procurement operations team, with opportunities to lead sourcing for select categories or deals.
  2. Develop and lead a robust team.
  3. Experience with CLM systems and AI tools is highly preferred to define and implement related processes.
  4. Recommend improvements to the current P2P system to enhance resolution speed and customer satisfaction.
  5. Coordinate with internal partners from need identification to delivery, including collaboration with Asia counterparts.
  6. Build relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient pricing and processes.
  7. Oversee team career development, skills, and staffing alignment.
  8. Manage end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities.
  9. Serve as subject matter expert in sourcing categories.
  10. Experience with P2P system implementation or process improvement is preferred.
  11. Engage with strategic vendors to improve value and performance.
  12. Contribute to policy, standards, process, and tool improvements within procurement.
  13. Implement North American Procurement Tower strategy to increase brand awareness and messaging consistency.
  14. Identify technology-driven solutions and leverage data analytics.
  15. Prepare and publish KPI dashboards.
  16. Present outcomes and deliverables to executive management.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain or vendor management at a senior level.
  • Qualification in supply chain or finance, MBA preferred.
  • Background in FinTech services is preferred; experience in large, sophisticated organizations is a plus.
  • Experience in management consulting is preferred.
  • Tech-savvy with deep understanding of vendor management, sourcing, and procurement principles.
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement systems and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of contractual terms to mitigate legal and business risks.
  • Experience in vendor governance and risk management.
  • Understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of implementing new processes and strategies in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strategic and global problem-solving abilities, with a long-term vision.
  • Demonstrated leadership: team building, communication, collaboration, customer focus, and influence.
