Job summary

Novacap is seeking a Vice President to own the full investment lifecycle from sourcing to post-close value creation. You will lead complex transactions, develop investment theses, and guide senior teams while representing the firm with management, advisors and investors.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage due diligence, and mentor junior colleagues, driving strategic initiatives and portfolio oversight across sectors.

Qualifications

  • Seven to ten years of experience in private equity, investment banking, venture capital or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics or engineering; an MBA, CFA, CPA or CAIA designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading complex investment processes.
  • Strong investment judgment, with the ability to develop and defend investment theses.
  • Experience managing cross-functional deal teams and external advisors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including executive-level presence.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, is required for cross-border activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including strategic, operational and financial due diligence.
  • Build investment theses and structure deals to align with strategic objectives.
  • Lead deal negotiations with management teams, shareholders and third parties.
  • Present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee with confidence and clarity.
  • Coordinate third-party advisors (legal, financial, industry and others) and internal deal teams.
  • Raise debt and equity capital, and manage transaction documentation.
  • Support deal sourcing and portfolio construction in collaboration with senior partners.
  • Sit on portfolio company boards and act as a trusted partner to C-level executives.
  • Support strategic planning, value creation initiatives and operational performance tracking.
  • Lead or support key transactions within portfolio companies, such as add-ons, refinancings and exits.
  • Evaluate and manage risk, and provide guidance on the recruitment of key executives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across portfolio sectors.

What you will do

As Vice President, you will own the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to executing transactions and driving post-close value creation.
