Cleveland Clinic, a distinguished academic healthcare system, announces a national search for the Vice Chief of Digestive Disease Institute inthe Florida market. Digestive Disease Institute is inclusive of the departments of gastroenterology, general surgery, and colorectal surgery and the center for abdominal transplant.

Job Profile Summary :

Reporting to the Ohio Institute Chief and indirectly to the Florida Chief of Staff, serves as the leader of the Digestive Disease Institute across the Florida market, spanning responsibility across all departments within the Institute. Appointed by the Ohio Institute Chief to execute on the Institute-wide initiatives. Responsible for physician practice management within the Florida market and serves as key liaison between market leadership and Institute leadership teams.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the performance of the Digestive Disease Institute across the Florida market. Accountable to Institute-based performance goals within the Florida market for safety, quality and patient experience and patients served.
  • Serves as the operational leader for provider groups across departments.
  • Acts as the leadership connection between teams across markets, institutes, divisions and departments to meet strategic goals and key initiatives for the Digestive Disease Institute and Florida market.
  • Provides indirect supervision and input into annual performance reviews for DDI providers in the Florida market.

Candidate Qualifications :

  • ABMS board certified in Colorectal Surgery, Gastroenterology or General Surgery.
  • Eligible to obtain a medical license to practice medicine in the state of Florida.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to a large, diverse audience.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems in a matrixed environment.
  • Requires agility, influence, emotional intelligence and the ability to drive results.
  • Demonstrates and models inspirational, inclusive, and truly human leadership behaviors.
  • Navigates a complex, global regulatory landscape.
  • Builds a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
  • Relevant leadership experience in a matrixed health care environment, preferably in a large medical practice or hospital setting.

Digestive Disease Institute in the Florida region has a longstanding history of high-quality care across the full breadth of digestive diseases including the use of cutting-edge technology and advanced care pathways. DDI specialists are located at all sites across the Florida market. This includes more than 10 ambulatory sites, 3 ambulatory surgery centers and 5 hospitals. There are GME training programs in general surgery, colorectal surgery and minimally invasive / bariatric surgery at the Weston location.
