Job description

CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ST. LOUIS, a family of ministries, has been helping people in need since 1912.

Inspired by Jesus Christ, we serve people in need, work to improve social conditions, and unite with others in this mission. Nearly 100,000 people benefit from our services, regardless of religion, age, gender, race or ethnicity.

The Southern Navigator will help their Episcopal Vicar to develop a social service outreach plan for each Parish in its territory, educate parish volunteers and personnel, and identify resources through Catholic Charities of St. Louis, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and other care providers to address community needs.

Such resources include but are not limited to mental health and substance abuse services; pregnancy and parenting supports; foster care and adoption; shelter and affordable housing; senior care; domestic violence consultation; immigration and translation/interpretation services; and concrete assistance (e.g., rent, food, utility, and financial support).

While being a practicing Catholic is a plus, if you are called to serve those in need as commanded by Christ and desire to work for a direct ministry of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, we want to talk with you!

Catholic Charities offers competitive compensation, first-class medical benefits, flexible work hours, and remote consideration.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with clergy and others to assist parishes in coordinating social outreach activities.
• Serve as regional expert regarding available social services and community supports for those in need; partner with parishes to complete screenings or risk assessments for those with complex needs.
• Work collaboratively with the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Catholic Charities counterparts, and other partner agencies to coordinate needed services.
• Represent the vicariate region as part of the Catholic Charities Senior Leadership Team to help inform and frame the ongoing development of an archdiocese-wide communion of care.
Master’s degree in social work or related field required. Coursework in both behavioral health and social policy is a plus. Fully licensed to practice in Missouri. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in case management, care coordination, assessment, and/or provision of treatment services in a clinical or social service setting required. Experience in training and supervision of others a plus.
