Job Details

Position Overview: As a Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of civil construction projects from initiation to completion. Your leadership will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage resources, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and site personnel, to achieve project objectives.
  3. Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures.
  4. Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  7. Client Relations: Maintain open and effective communication with clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  8. Contract Administration: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  10. Reporting: Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the civil construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with design-build and public-private partnership (P3) project delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
