THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an immediate opening for a full-time Retrofit Project Manager. Reporting directly to the Retrofit Manager and working closely with all departments, this position will be responsible for managing retrofit gas compression packages projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage multiple projects, monitor, assess, and report project progress by creating and managing schedules and deliverables for on-time delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date records of cost adders and change orders.
- Support procurement of equipment and materials, answering customer and shop queries.
- Conduct regular shop inspections to ensure compliance with design and schedule.
- Support fabrication and assembly processes.
- Manage all aspects of project performance including planning, execution, monitoring, and quality control.
- Plan, schedule, and organize all phases of projects.
- Handle change order requests, including assessing costs, schedules, and contracts.
- Assess project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Assist with applications and quoting duties.
- Maintain financial reports on project health and performance.
- Report project status to stakeholders and management.
- Participate in client meetings such as Design Reviews, HAZOP, and Pre-Start Up Audits.
- Coordinate activities with clients, suppliers, and departments.
- Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and customer specifications.
- Represent the project internally and act as liaison among teams.
- Assist field support teams as needed; some travel required.
- Contribute to and develop project management best practices.
- Evaluate customer requirements and prepare quotations for retrofit solutions.
- Conduct front-end design, selection, and sizing of equipment, and perform costing.
- Participate in project definition and bid preparation.
- Work with Sales to ensure quality and market-relevant quotes.
- Ensure smooth transition of project information to Engineering after award.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Project Manager in oil/gas equipment fabrication or multi-disciplinary construction.
- Experience in project estimating in oil and gas projects is an asset.
- Experience with natural gas compressor packages is preferred but not required.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Relevant Gas Processing experience is an asset.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and team work ability.
