Job summary

Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital in Victoria, BC is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our Surgery Department. You will work closely with our surgery team, including two board-certified surgeons, to provide excellent patient care during anesthesia and surgical procedures.

The role offers competitive hourly compensation ($27.00 to $40.00 per hour) with 10-hour shifts, four days per week, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) or eligible to register.
• Experience in surgery and anesthesia preferred.
• Ability to work in a steady, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent patient care and record-keeping.
• Strong interpersonal skills with team and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures: venipuncture, Catheter placement, radiology, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring and patient assessment.
• Willing to enhance technical skills; anesthesia, mechanical ventilators.
• Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet parents.
• Proven ability to keep accurate patient records and manage documentation.

Location: Victoria, BC

Compensation: $27.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience and skills

Department: Surgery

Schedule: This position is full-time. Shifts are 10 hours, 4 days per week.

Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist RVT to join our Surgery Department!

This role will work closely with our surgery team , includi ng TWO board-certified surgeons, to provide excellent care to patients requiring this service. The successful candidate will possess excepti onal pa tient care and technical skills (including anesthesia). You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement on cases with v ar ious degrees of complexity; you will also have a board-certified anesthesiologi st available to weigh in on protocols and procedures. Previous experience in a specialty surgery role would be an asset but is not required.
