Island Animal Hospital in beautiful Nanaimo, BC, is seeking full-time Registered Veterinary Technologists to join our team. We offer an environment where you can utilize your skills to their fullest potential.

At VCA Canada, our RVTs are provided with the necessary tools and resources to succeed and pursue multiple passions within our hospitals. We welcome applicants with the following qualifications and attributes:

  1. Completion of a Veterinary Technician/Technologist or Animal Health Technician/Technologist program. Preparing to write the VTNE? We can assist!
  2. New graduates with knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy are encouraged to apply. We love supporting new graduates!
  3. Surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery skills.
  4. Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
  5. Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their pet parents.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask clarifying questions to find solutions.
  8. Exceptional interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and pet parents.
  9. A passion for continuous learning within the role.
