Job summary

Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) in Edmonton is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our medical team. The role involves high-volume surgical prep, patient monitoring, and in-house diagnostic workups to support animal health and welfare.

You will work with a compassionate team, provide client education, and assist veterinarians with diagnostic plans and treatments for hospitalized animals. Flexible hours may be required to meet departmental needs.

Qualifications

ABVMA license in good standing.
15 credits of continuing education yearly.

Responsibilities

High-quality, high-volume surgical preparation and monitoring.
Daily medication administration and care of hospitalized patients.
Laboratory and diagnostic work-up including in-house radiology, hematology/chemistry/fecal and urinalysis.
Entry examinations of all animals entering care.
Foster support for foster animal care and family support.
Provide education for clients/adopters on animal health and care as needed for adopted animals with health concerns or post-surgery needs.
Assist veterinarians in diagnostic workups and treatment plans.
