VCA Canada Animal Hospitals are continuing to develop and support amazing teams, and welcome Veterinary Technicians to join our hospitals in Ontario!

We want to not only thank but also recognize our RVTs for their tireless effort and unwavering dedication to caring for life’s greatest companions.

RVTs are the primary support team for our Veterinarians. Without them, none of our hospitals would be open. RVTs wear many hats as they meet with clients to discuss everything from nutrition to behaviour and post-operative care. They are hygienists, nurses, and x-ray superstars, all rolled into one. They assist in major surgeries and work with some of the most critical patients. They are the glue that holds our practices together and wield an immense amount of knowledge, expertise, and passion.

What you bring to this role :

  • Have completed a two-year diploma in a Veterinary Technician program; eligible to register with OAVT
  • New graduates with knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy - welcome to apply! Preparing for your VTNE, we can help!
  • Surgical preparation, assistance, and patient recovery
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to problem-solve or ask clarifying questions to help find solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet parents
  • Passion to learn more within the role
