The Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre is an established, cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary facility located in the heart of metro Vancouver. We have been providing emergency care in this community since 1978 and specialty services since 2015. In addition to Emergency care, we provide Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Radiology, Critical Care and Oncology services, with a Neurology service launch expected in early 2026.

Our Emergency Service is welcoming Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) to join our team!

Our Emergency RVTs will use their technical skills to the fullest and are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing one or multiple services within our hospital.

Overview
Responsibilities / What you will do
  • Perform a variety of clinical procedures including (not limited to): venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in-house lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triage.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Key Qualifications
  • Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT or eligible to register
  • Confident team player who can also work independently when required
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet parents
  • Willing to further enhance technical skills and expertise
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep accurate medical records
  • Ability to thrive and provide a high level of care in an often fast-paced environment
