Job summary

Southsaskatchewananimalhospital in Barrie, Ontario invites final-year veterinary technician students to participate in their VT Practicum Program. This program offers an opportunity to gain real-world experience while working alongside experienced veterinarians in a supportive environment.

Students will develop clinical skills, enhance communication with medical teams and clients, and can choose a practicum ranging from two to eight weeks. A stipend is provided to assist with travel costs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited veterinary technician program in Canada and completing your final practicum in your final year.

Program Overview

NVA Canada’s VT Practicum Program offers final‑year veterinary technician students the chance to gain real‑world experience in a supportive, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs to develop clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology, and more.
• Enhance communication abilities with medical teams and clients.
• Participate in a practicum that ranges from two to eight weeks, fitting your schedule and career goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Eligible students receive a stipend to help cover travel expenses, allowing a focus on learning without financial worries.
