Job summary

NVA Canada offers a VT Practicum Program for final-year veterinary technician students in Canada. This practicum provides hands-on experience in patient care, anesthesia, radiology and more, working with veterinarians and RVTs in a supportive setting.

Overview

Unique location that allows us to perform many procedures that would otherwise be referred if we were closer to a larger centre. We see everything as we are the only clinic to service a very large geographical area.

Program Details

NVA Canada’s VT Practicum Program offers final‑year veterinary technician students the chance to gain real‑world experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. Work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs to develop your clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology and more. Enhance your communication abilities with medical teams and clients, preparing you for a successful career as an RVT. Practicums range from two to eight weeks, fitting your schedule and career goals.

Eligibility

Eligible students—those enrolled in an accredited VT program in Canada and completing their final practicum in their final year—can receive a stipend to help with travel expenses, allowing you to focus on learning without financial worries.
