Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist

Location: Barrie, ON

O'Sullivan Animal Hospital,located in Barrie, ON.,is currently welcoming a dependable and caringVeterinary Assistant, Receptionist to join our team! This dual role is a flexible opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital.

• Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients

• General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas

• Compassion and a nurturing attitude

• Willingness to learn more regarding; pet nutrition, veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the v eterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and adapt to changing situations

• Take initiative and work independently

• Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

• Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively

• Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings

• Respond to and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages

• Scheduling appointments

• Admitting and discharging pet patients
