Qualifications
- Veterinary experience required
- Previous customer service experience in a similar setting is preferred.
Essential Functions:
Clerical:
- Open and close the practice as directed, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Prepare for appointments by retrieving client records and necessary forms.
- Notify doctors of patient arrivals and relay all relevant information.
- Discharge patients by entering charges, reviewing instructions, and setting reminders.
- Accept and process payments accurately.
- Schedule appointments based on client and animal data.
- Dispense medications and provide instructions to owners.
- Oversee over-the-counter sales with technical product knowledge.
- Update client and patient records as needed.
- Perform end-of-day procedures, including balancing the cash drawer and securing the premises.
- Maintain and update medical and certification records.
- Generate and send reminders to clients and make recall calls.
- Handle faxing, mailing, and copying tasks.
- Restock retail and display areas as required.
- Organize work areas and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Customer Service:
- Greet clients and patients warmly, ensuring their comfort.
- Educate clients on preventive care, wellness, and vaccination needs.
- Answer calls professionally, screening and directing as appropriate.
- Present medications and informational materials to clients.
Basic Skills:
- Understanding of hospital procedures and medical record management.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and record-keeping.

- Ability to multitask effectively.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
