Veterinary Assistant, Multi Specialty

Location: Calgary, AB

Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency C.A.R.E. Centre, a member of VCA Canada, is currently welcoming a full time Multi Service Tech Assistant to join our ever growing facility.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be compassionate, and have the ability to adapt to the needs of clients across various services. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a highly functioning team. This individual should be self-motivated to stay productive even when not assigned to a specific department and must be willing to work in the ER when required.

Duties Include:

• Assisting Techs and Vets with daily tasks and patient care.

• Providing hands-on care for our patients, including feeding, walking, and maintaining the cleanliness of patients and their housing.

• Performing proper restraint techniques to aid Techs and Vets in assessing and treating patients.

• Assisting in sample collection, radiographs, and ultrasounds.

• Communicating with clients and providing daily updates on their pets' conditions.

• Offering physical and emotional support for patients.

• Maintaining the hospital treatment areas and ensuring general cleanliness.

• Performing other duties as needed for the general maintenance of the hospital.

Schedule:Hours: 8 am-6 pm, Monday to Thursday.
