Fairfield Animal Hospital in Kelowna, BC, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians during emergency and routine care. The role offers full-time and part-time opportunities with a rotating schedule including evenings, overnights, one weekend day per week, and some holidays; minimum 64 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians with hands-on patient care during emergency and critical care cases.
• Assist with restraint, basic treatments, and day-to-day patient handling across a high-volume caseload.
• Bring strong math fundamentals (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to daily tasks.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
