About The Role:

Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. Please note this is a temporary role for providing maternity leave coverage.

Experience working in a front desk reception role is an asset, as most of your day will be at front desk reception. This role will is 32-40 hours per week with the possibility of staying on in a veterinary assistant role after 1 year. This is a great opportunity to work with rescue organizations and exotic animals. We are a small, friendly laid back team. We also dont require any work on evenings and weekends.
