Our Commitment To You

At Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital, we believe veterinary medicine is at its best when it combines great patient care with a supportive, collaborative team culture. We're looking for a confident and experienced Veterinarian who is ready to step into a well‑established role, build lasting client relationships, and make an immediate impact within a welcoming practice that feels like home.

Located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, our hospital has earned the trust of generations of pet owners through compassionate care, strong community connections, and a personalized approach where clients and patients are known by name.

  • Join a supportive, close‑knit team with outstanding staff retention and a culture built on collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Enjoy a flexible schedule with no overnight responsibilities and the opportunity to maintain a healthy work‑life balance.
  • Practice high‑quality general medicine while expanding your surgical and dental caseload in a well‑established hospital.
  • Live and work in Halifax, where you can enjoy waterfront walks, coastal hiking, vibrant culture, incredible restaurants, and Atlantic Canada's best entertainment scene.

As part of our network, you will receive competitive compensation, bonus potential, generous CE allowance, VIN membership, licensing dues paid, paid vacation, generous personal pet policy, great health benefits and access to our extensive network of veterinary professionals!

A Community of Excellence Awaits You

Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital is a small, established general practice with a reputation for delivering personalized care and building meaningful relationships with clients. With two veterinarians, a dedicated RVT, veterinary assistants, and client care professionals, our team takes pride in supporting one another and stepping in wherever needed.

What truly makes us special is our culture. Our team is cross‑trained, highly collaborative, and genuinely enjoys working together. Monthly lunch‑and‑learns, clinic book clubs, team outings, and strong personal connections have created an environment where people feel valued and supported. Many team members have worked together for years, contributing to our exceptional retention and positive workplace atmosphere.

The hospital itself has a warm, welcoming feel that clients often describe as comfortable and familiar. From our popular "Patients of the Day" chalkboard to the way we greet families and pets by name, our practice is deeply rooted in the community we serve.

We're also proud supporters of local education programs, partnering with area high schools to provide cooperative learning opportunities for students interested in veterinary medicine.

And when the workday is done, Halifax offers an incredible lifestyle. Spend your morning walking along the harbour, your afternoon exploring scenic trails, and your evening enjoying fresh seafood, live music, festivals, galleries, and waterfront sunsets.

  • DVM degree (or equivalent) and eligibility to practice veterinary medicine in Nova Scotia.
  • 2+ years of experience in companion animal general practice, with 5+ years considered a strong asset.
  • Confidence working independently in a busy clinical environment.
  • Strong proficiency in routine soft tissue surgery, including spays and neuters.
  • Experience performing dentistry procedures or a desire to actively contribute to the clinic's dental services.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused approach to patient care.
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to be part of a supportive, team‑oriented culture.
