Practice

Rockford Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Rockford, MN. From wellness exams and vaccines to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical procedures, we ensure that the small animal companions of Rockford and the surrounding communities will receive the highest quality care at our hospital.

Position Purpose

We welcome another DVM to our team! Our multi-doctor practice has been serving the Rockford community since the early 2000s.

Most of our DVMs have decades of experience, with their main interests being surgery and internal medicine. At RVC, we are able to provide a wide array of services ranging from basic wellness care to orthopedic surgery.

We welcome DVMs of all experience levels as our current team of doctors can provide valuable mentorship to any new graduate. For experienced veterinarians, our team is supportive, collaborative, and always willing to ensure that fellow doctors can practice their best medicine.

Our doctors are supported by an equally experienced support staff of 3 CVTs, 2 assistants, 2 customer service representatives, and our practice manager. Our support team is confident and capable, aiding in surgical assistance/monitoring, sample collection, running appointments, diagnostic imaging, hospital cleanliness, and more.

Our practice emphasizes the importance of work-life balance, so our doctors are always offered flexible schedules and haveno weekend or on-call responsibilities. A typical full-time schedule consists of 4 days a week with days beginning at 8:40 AM (first appointment time) and ending between 5 and 6 PM. Doctors are given 12 PM – 2 PM to take lunch and catch up on any notes or other tasks.

The town hosts many local events and gatherings through the year and is also just a short drive from the Twin Cities, giving everyone easy access to opportunities that Minneapolis and St Paul have to offer as well! Rockford is a great blend of small-town charm with urban amenities.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
