Bedford Parks Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a full-time DVM / Medical Director to join our team!

About the Opportunity: The ideal candidate for the Medical Director position will be confident and excited about building a strong team that aligns with our values. You see your team as an integral part of the broader team and focus on taking the time to know each member, understanding that each person requires a tailored approach to learning, performance, and achieving set goals. Some key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing expertise as the lead veterinarian to ensure optimal patient care; coaching teams in wellness plans, preventive care, and overall patient care.
  2. Reviewing and enhancing protocols as required according to regulatory standards.
  3. Fostering a culture of teamwork and exceptional client service.
  4. Partnering with hospital leadership to assess financial performance and operations, addressing areas for improvement, and celebrating achievements.
  5. Engaging in recruiting efforts for qualified veterinarians through externships, referrals, career fairs, and DVM student summer programs.
  6. Building and leading a high-performing team of veterinarians and technologists/technicians, employing effective leadership and coaching practices.
  7. Contributing to performance evaluations and leading coaching sessions for all team members, emphasizing client education on wellness and preventive care.
