DVM Positions for Brand New Hospital in Mount Uniacke!

We are currently looking for a full-time DVM to join us with our new hospital in beautiful Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia which opened in April 2024. Initially this will be to cover a maternity leave position, but we hope to be able to keep the right person on after that leave is done!

Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital is located 10 minutes from Sackville, 25 minutes from the Valley and with our proximity to the emergency hospitals. We are not working on calls, overnights, Sundays or Holidays!

  • A valid veterinarian license allowing practice in Canada

  • Experience in; soft tissue surgical procedures, preventative care, and offering nutritional advice.

  • Dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents, and community

About us: Our primary focus is on prevention and education, offering individually tailored care to our patients and their families. We also own five other hospitals within HRM, so we have a large network of DVMs and team members who work together to collaborate, share experiences, generate ideas and support one another whenever needed. We have a formal onboarding/training process as well as regular upskilling sessions, internal wet labs and 1:1 surgical training as needed (ex. large dog spays, dental wetlabs, etc). Because of our diverse and supportive team, new veterinarians are welcome to apply and will be supported in their early career growth.

Our brand-new hospital is fully equipped with anything you need to provide excellent medical care. Digital everything, full lab equipment, all monitoring and safety equipment, paperless record keeping, references and support materials. What you think a great veterinary hospital should have, we have (and if we don’t and you need it – we will get it). Plus, our hospital will be feline friendly, have a spacious footprint, 6 exam rooms, multiple surgical/procedures suites, separate cat and dog wards and lots of extra space that makes working just that little bit easier when you have room to move!
