Job summary

Dover Area Animal Hospital is offering an externship for clinical year veterinary students. You will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in history taking, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and assisting or performing surgical procedures.

Externships typically run two to eight weeks, with travel and living expense stipends provided; an additional $500 travel stipend may be offered.

Qualifications

• Clinical year veterinary students eligible.

Responsibilities

• Gaining experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures.
• Developing communication skills with the medical team, staff and clients.
